Matomo Annotation Bulk Import

The Annotation Import feature allows you to import annotations from a CSV file directly into your Matomo instance. Annotations can be exportet in Universal Analytics and importet into Matomo. Annotations are useful to make notes on your analytics data in Matomo, and importing them can help you easily migrate or restore annotation data.

The CSV file for importing annotations should be structured in a specific format:

• The first column should contain the date of the annotation, in the format "YYYY-MM-DD".
• The second column should contain the note text of the annotation.
• The third column is optional and should contain a '1' if you want the annotation to be starred, or '0' otherwise.

Here's an example of how your CSV file might look:

2023-05-25; "Launched new marketing campaign"; 1
2023-06-01; "Updated website design"; 0
2023-06-15; "Began summer sale"; 1

Once you have prepared your CSV file, simply enter the required information in the form (Matomo URL, API Token, and Site ID), then select your CSV file and click "Import". The annotations from your CSV file will be added to your Matomo site data.

Please note that you need an API Token from your Matomo instance to use this feature. You can generate this token from your Matomo account settings.
